Shola Craft - Our communities in 24 South Pargnasdistrict of West Bengal are some of the leaders in Shola Pith craft where more than 500 families are involved in making Shola products like home décor items, idols of Gods, accessories used by grooms and bridesduring marriage and other decorative items. The community has been enriched by becoming the biggest exporter of the above to various cities of West Bengal and other states and countries as well. The average income per household in the Shola business is more than INR 7500 per month.

Potterwoman

Pottery - The model village which Avait Foundation helps develop is home to a cluster of very talented potters. In a similar way to Shola, pottery has flourished immensely in communities where the artists are involved. They not only make basic items of decoration for festivals like Durga Puja and Diwali, but they also export these materials to countries as far as Europe. The potter households average an income of about Rs. 11,700 per month.
